ictoria, B.C., is known as the Garden City for
its multitude of overflowing hanging baskets that adorn downtown's streets.
The parliament buildings (shown here at night) overlook the inner harbour,
a great place for a twilight walk. |
 |
ictoria is the capital and second largest city in B.C. Victoria
can be desribed as Canada's most English city. With its manicured
gardens, winding streets, cricket games with tea breaks, double decker
buses and horse carriages, Victoria is a city not easily left, or
forgotten. View the map of Downtown

troll the downtown streets and find yourself
gazing into the 19th Century store windows and admiring the various
artwork, china, and luxurious delicacies offered by the local merchants.
Don't forget to visit Antique Row, a section of Fort Street lined
with small shops that specialize in preserving the past. |
he Inner Harbour is the heart of Victoria.
A causeway wraps around the harbour while the impressive stone Legislative
Buildings and Empress Hotel peer out onto the harbour welcoming
visiters coming by sea. A twilight walk along the causeway, illuminated
by antique street lamps and with the Legislative Buildings aglow,
is highly recommended. |
